Going to Australia

This is first image my mother made for this project. It depicts her dragging a shell with a suitcase and her tiny doll daughter peeking out of it. My mother told me that the shell represents a good family name, reputation and hope of success. To the left, an image of Sydney and beyond. In her speech bubble, she suggests that we’re not from this mortal realm, reflecting her belief that we are descendants of angels, of celestial beings, of “high-level aliens”, as she puts it.
